Umm… where are all those hard core American Gladiator fans from Season 1, do they know AG is airing Season 2? According to the overnight Neilson ratings it seems they don’t as there were only 4 Million viewers watching Episode 2, down 900K viewers from the premiere episode last week. This is definately not good news for NBC who sunk a ton of money into AG for season 2.

The on again off again saga of TNA’s Matt Morgan being an American Gladiators has come to an end according to several sources who claim he will be in the role of new Gladiator ‘The Beast’ sometime in mid-season. Even though filming for Season 2 has already been finished news of this is just starting to trickle out. Supposedly there were some contract issues between NBC and his wrestling company TNA that had to be sorted out, but the two sides struck a deal and he has already filmed his segments.

Overnight Neilsen ratings are in for the Season 2 premiere of American Gladiators and they are very dissapointing. In the 8 to 10 p.m. timeslot American Gladiators only managed to bring in 4.9 million viewers compared with Season 1 ratings of 12.1 million viewers. Having to go up against one of the final episodes of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ proved to be costly for viewership. Unfortunately Gladiators had to start May 12th so it could be finished in time for the Olympics.
This news is very concerning for NBC because of how much money they dumped into the show for this season. Unless ratings pick up this could be the second and final season of American Gladiators.
