Crush Resumes MMA Career on May 31

Season 1 fan favorite Crush, aka Gina Carano, will resume her MMA fighting career next Saturday, May 31, against Kaitlin Young on CBS’ Elite XC channel. Although Carano is one of the best known female MMA fighters, this will only be Gina’s 6th fight. However, she has fought her way to the top and has been working hard to perfect her jiu-jitsu to become a better all round fighter.

The daughter of a former Dallas Cowboy’s quarterback, Gina wrapped up taping of AG Season 2 only a few weeks ago. That left her just 3 weeks to get into fight shape for this bout with Kaitlin Young. Win or lose, let’s hope Gina manages to take care of her looks so NBC doesn’t regret letting her resume her MMA career.

According to 411mania.com, the popular MMA fighter Gina Carano (aka Crush) is choosing to protect her facial asset and she will not be participating in the upcoming February 16th EliteXC card.Â There are many rumors flying around about disagreements between Carano’s camp and Elite XC officials but as long as she is a favorite gladiator, NBC will most likely apply pressure for her to stay out of the ring.Â She’s become an asset to NBC and they want to protect their investment.Â Couple that with other prime-time opportunities and it may be awhile before she puts her face at risk again in a fight.

American Gladiators has caught the eye ofÂ mainstream sports giant ESPN,Â well, their Page 2 section at least.Â Lead columnist Bill Simmons must have been too busy, too afraid or maybe just too smart as 5′9″ writer Sam Alipour was sent to Stage 30 at Sony Pictures Studios toÂ experienceÂ theÂ behind the scenes action of AG.Â

We have known for a few days Gina Carano, Muay Thai and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighterÂ was going to be one of the new Gladiators but we were unsure of which one.Â Well it has been confirmed she will be gladiator ‘Crush’, a new name added to the mixÂ for more then one reason I am sure.Â Gina Carano is currently a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter with a record of 5-0-0 and aÂ fight as recent as September 15 of this year against Tonya Evinger who she defeated via a choke submission.Â Check out Gina’s biography for more info, photosÂ and fun facts about her life.
